PSG Grant for POS Systems in Singapore (2026): What F&B Owners Need to Know

Published by Aptsys | Updated May 2026 | 5 min read

If you run a restaurant, café, or hawker stall in Singapore and you’re thinking about upgrading your point-of-sale system, there’s a good chance the government will pay for half of it.

The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) provides Singapore SMEs with up to 50% funding support for pre-approved technology solutions — including F&B POS systems, self-ordering kiosks, and digital ordering platforms. In 2026, the grant remains one of the most accessible and widely used technology subsidies available to local food and beverage businesses.

This guide explains exactly how the PSG grant works for POS systems, who qualifies, which solutions are covered, and how to apply step by step.

What Is the PSG Grant?

The Productivity Solutions Grant (PSG) is administered by Enterprise Singapore and supports Singapore SMEs in adopting pre-approved IT solutions and equipment that improve business productivity.

For F&B businesses, this means you can get up to 50% of the cost of a qualifying POS system, digital ordering solution, or self-service kiosk subsidised — up to a cap of S$30,000 per year.

The grant is part of the IMDA SMEs Go Digital programme, which pre-approves specific technology vendors and solutions. Aptsys’s Digital Ordering Solutions are a pre-approved solution under this programme.

Who Qualifies for the PSG Grant?

To be eligible for the PSG grant, your business must meet all of the following criteria:

  • Registered and operating in Singapore
  • At least 30% local shareholding (Singapore citizens or permanent residents)
  • Annual sales turnover of no more than S$100 million, OR employ no more than 200 workers
  • The solution must be used in Singapore

Most independent restaurants, cafés, food courts, and hawker operators will qualify. Large chains or subsidiaries of multinational companies typically do not.

What F&B Technology Is Covered?

Under the SMEs Go Digital programme, PSG-eligible F&B solutions include:

  • Point-of-sale (POS) systems — for order taking, payment processing, and sales reporting
  • Self-ordering kiosks — allowing customers to order and pay without staff assistance
  • Online and mobile ordering platforms — for dine-in QR ordering, takeaway, and delivery
  • Queue management systems — for managing customer flow
  • Kitchen display systems (KDS) — replacing paper dockets in the kitchen

Aptsys’s suite covers all of the above under one integrated platform, meaning you can apply for PSG support for a complete front-to-back digital upgrade — not just a single product.

Common Questions About PSG for F&B POS

Can I apply for PSG if I already have a POS system? Yes — you can apply for PSG to upgrade or replace an existing POS system, as long as you have not already signed a contract with the new vendor before submitting your application.

Can I apply for multiple solutions in one application? Yes. You can apply for PSG support for multiple pre-approved solutions in one submission, as long as each is separately listed and quoted.

Is there a cap on the PSG grant? The PSG grant is capped at S$30,000 per company per year across all PSG applications.

What happens if my application is rejected? Enterprise Singapore will notify you of the reason. Common rejection reasons include submitting the application after signing a vendor contract, or not meeting the eligibility criteria. Contact your vendor (Aptsys) and Enterprise Singapore for guidance on reapplying.

Do I need to renew the PSG subsidy every year? No. Once approved, the subsidy applies to the one-time or initial cost of the solution. Ongoing subscription or maintenance fees after the initial period are typically not covered.
